The White House has announced that Obama will announce his Executive Order on immigration tomorrow with a rally to follow on Friday in Las Vegas.

From the Washington Post:

President Obama said in a video that he will lay out his proposal to overhaul the nation’s immigration system Thursday and will travel to Las Vegas on the heels of that announcement to rally support for his initiative on Friday.

“Tomorrow night I’m going to be announcing here from the White House some steps I can take to start fixing our broken immigration system,” Obama said in a video posted on Facebook Wednesday afternoon.

“Everybody agrees that our immigration system is broken. Unfortunately Washington has allowed the problem to fester for too long,” Obama said. “So what’ I’m going to be laying out is the things I can do with my lawful authority as president to make the system work better even as I continue to work with Congress and encourage them to get a bipartisan, comprehensive bill that can solve the entire problem.

If you hear what sounds like two stray cats f**king inside a jet engine that’s scraping fingernails on a blackboard, then that is likely people who are opposed to his EO voicing their opposition.

Personally, I’d much rather see Congress deal with this crap as that is what we pay them to do.  However, the realist inside knows that I have a better chance of seeing lake effect snow cover the island of Puerto Rico than seeing Congress actually do their job in a productive manner.

  1. I hate partisan politics but that’s all this is. Obama is trying to goad the Republicans into a fight and if they’re smart, they’ll just let it pass and bide their time. After the new guys get sworn in, they can do whatever they want. Will they be smart enough to do that? Probably a toss up.

    • I won’t argue against that as McConnell himself stated their goal was to make Obama a one term president. Suffice to say, they failed.

I don’t think it would have been much different if Clinton had beaten Obama in 2008 and knocked off McCain afterwards.
The partisanship is getting worse by the administration. It’s only going to get worse if the citizens continue to sit out elections and allow 30% of the voters determine who controls the government.
