I know Ossie Davis is awaiting you with open arms. You were beloved here on Earth, and you will not be forgotten. Thanks for the wonderful roles you brought to us and left us to cherish your memory.
Whether it was on stage, on film, or on TV, you entertained us for more than 40 years. From A Raisin in the Sun on stage to Jungle Fever on film, it’s hard to decide on a favorite performance as I enjoyed them all. You were friends with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr as well as Malcolm X and worked hard during the Civil Rights Movement. From being a member of the NAACP to being co-master of ceremonies for the March on Washington, you played a significant role in creating the world we live in today that allows me to be who I am without fear.
Godspeed my sister. Let Ossie know he’s missed here too.
