No, we don’t all look alike

This has got to be one interview that this reporter Sam Rubin of KTLA will never forget.  I was actually surprised that Samuel L. Jackson didn’t give him a classic Samuel L. Jackson line, complete with the multiple bleeps from the network censor.  Rubin did offer an apology as the news station did as well.

  1. I’m torn. I have a sneaky sympathy for the reporter; there are a whole bunch of celebrity types, singers and actors and actresses, who I can’t keep straight. I can’t remember which name goes with which pretty face and I have no idea which of them was in what film or show or commercial or escapade. It has nothing to do with color, because most of them are the same color I am. It also doesn’t have to do with them looking alike, because they don’t. It’s simply a type of matching game I’m not very good at and getting worse at every year.

On the other hand, most of the people I have trouble with are in their 20s and 30s. Samuel L. Jackson and Lawrence Fishburne have been around long enough to burn into my consciousness. And I’m not an entertainment reporter. Surely he knows better. Wonder what his problem was?

Off topic, I hope you, your family, your pets, your home and your cars will all weather the coming ice storm. Stay safe.

    • Had to work today. The drive wasn’t too bad as long as you stayed within the areas that had been “plowed”. I put that in quotation marks because the ride home felt like I was driving on cobblestone roads. The family all survived well without me for a while. We haven’t lost power yet, but I’ve got my fingers crossed about waking up with power intact.

Don’t feel bad about getting people mixed up. We all do it, and I’m just as guilty as anyone else. I remember faces well, but I’m not the best with names.

  2. In my opinion, this has been a bit overblown. The guy made a mistake and apologized for it. Heck, even at our age, my Mama still gets me and my siblings names mixed up all the time. It happens.
